Cookeville, Putnam County
Roof repair and replacement in Cookeville.
Cookeville is the Putnam County seat and the largest city in the Upper Cumberland, home to Tennessee Tech and set about 1,100 feet up on the Highland Rim. It is about an hour and a half from Murfreesboro, so we plan Cookeville work well ahead.
Working in Cookeville
What we see on Cookeville roofs
Cookeville became the county seat in 1854 and was named for Richard F. Cooke. The Nashville and Knoxville Railroad reached town in 1890, the Cookeville Depot went up in the West Side District in 1909, and Dixie College was established that same year before it became Tennessee Tech. Highway 70N in 1930 and Interstate 40 in 1966 each added to the city’s growth, and State Route 111 followed in the late 1980s.
That growth has kept going. The city went from 30,435 residents in 2010 to 34,842 in 2020, and the Census Bureau ranked the Cookeville area the fourth largest gaining micropolitan area in the country from 2022 to 2023. The landscape is rugged, which kept large farms from taking hold, and the city sits a few hundred feet higher than Nashville. Cane Creek Lake sits in western Cookeville, City Lake lies along the Falling Water River, and homes on the higher lots in this hilly ground take more weather.
At about ninety five minutes each way by Interstate 40, Cookeville is at the far end of our range, and we want you to know that up front. We book Putnam County inspections and installs in blocks rather than as single trips. Call first so we can confirm the date of our next trip to Putnam County.
Common needs
What Cookeville homeowners usually call about
Sixty inches a year
Cookeville averages about 60 inches of precipitation a year. We size gutters and downspouts for that volume and give valleys and wall flashing extra attention.
Photos before the drive
Every Cookeville inspection comes with photos and a written proposal. You can review it at home and call with questions before anything is scheduled.
Cooler, higher ground
Cookeville sits a few hundred feet above Nashville, runs slightly cooler, and averages about six inches of snow a year. We install ice and water protection in valleys and at eaves where the roof calls for it.
