McMinnville, Warren County

Roof repair and replacement in McMinnville.

McMinnville is the Warren County seat, set on the Eastern Highland Rim near the foot of the Cumberland Plateau and known as the Nursery Capital of the World. It is close to an hour from Murfreesboro, so we plan our trips here.

Working in McMinnville

What we see on McMinnville roofs

McMinnville was founded in 1810 and named for Governor Joseph McMinn. Its nursery trade goes back to the late 1800s, when a farmer named John Henry Harrison Boyd started selling seeds and then trees, and in the 2017 Census of Agriculture Warren County ranked first among Tennessee counties in nursery, greenhouse, floriculture, and sod production. Downtown landmarks include the Park Theatre, which reopened in 2015, and the Black House on West Main Street, built in 1825 and the oldest remaining residence in the city.

Several National Register houses stand on older in town streets such as North Spring Street and Towles Avenue. Older houses like these can have steep pitches, several roof valleys, and chimneys that need careful flashing. Beyond downtown, the Barren Fork runs through the city toward the Collins River, and Cardwell Mountain rises about five miles east of town above Cumberland Caverns.

McMinnville is about forty miles from our Murfreesboro base by U.S. 70S through Woodbury, close to an hour each way. We do not make that drive for a single stop. Warren County inspections and installs are grouped on set days, and we confirm the date with you by phone before the crew heads out. If you have an active leak, call anyway and we will talk through temporary options until the scheduled day.

Common needs

What McMinnville homeowners usually call about

Older in town homes

Historic houses along streets like West Main and North Spring can have chimneys, valleys, and trim that need slow, careful work. We photograph those details before tear off so they are rebuilt correctly.

Nursery country outbuildings

With more than 400 growers around McMinnville, a property may include a shop, barn, or work shed. We roof those in exposed fastener or standing seam metal, sized to the building.

Set Warren County days

We stack McMinnville jobs together so one long drive serves several homeowners. Ask when you call which day we expect to be in Warren County next.
