Hendersonville, Sumner County

Roof repair and replacement in Hendersonville.

Hendersonville has about 26 miles of shoreline on Old Hickory Lake and grew quickly after the dam was finished in 1954. Lake exposure and the split level homes of that era are two things we plan around here.

Working in Hendersonville

What we see on Hendersonville roofs

Hendersonville was not incorporated until 1969, and by the 2020 census it had more than 61,000 residents, the most of any city in Sumner County. US 31E and the State Route 386 freeway run through town, with Indian Lake Village and the Streets of Indian Lake along Indian Lake Boulevard. Rock Castle, Daniel Smith’s stone home completed in 1796, still stands on the lake.

A lot of the housing went up in the decades after the dam. Lakeside Park, on the west side near the water, was built mostly between 1961 and 1978 with ranch and split level homes on streets like Gatone Drive and Vulco Drive. Split level roofs have more parts than a plain ranch: several roof planes at different heights and sidewalls where a lower roof meets a taller wall. When we replace one, we pull the old step flashing, check the sheathing under each section, and rebuild every wall joint so it sheds water.

Many homes sit near the shoreline, close to parks like Sanders Ferry and Drakes Creek, and open water gives wind a clear run at a roof. After a storm we photograph each slope, the ridge, and the flashing so you can see the damage for yourself. Hendersonville is about fifty minutes from Murfreesboro through Nashville, so we group work here into scheduled blocks.

Common needs

What Hendersonville homeowners usually call about

Split level flashing

Several roof heights mean several wall joints. We install new step flashing at each one rather than reusing old metal.

Open water gusts

Lakeside roofs take stronger gusts, so we use high wind nailing and sealed starter strips along the eaves and rakes.

Grouped north side days

Hendersonville is a longer drive for us. We book inspections and installs here on grouped days, and a phone call gets you the next open date.

Questions from Hendersonville

Do you inspect lakeside Hendersonville roofs after wind storms?

Yes. Once it is safe to walk the roof, we photograph missing or creased shingles, lifted ridge caps, and loose flashing, then give you a written report. Since the drive is longer, call first and we will confirm which day we can be there.

Do you inspect storm damage in Hendersonville?

Yes. After hail or high wind in Hendersonville we inspect, photograph, and give you a written summary you can keep or share with your insurer. Read our guide to storm damage and insurance claims before you file anything.
