Gallatin, Sumner County

Gallatin is the Sumner County seat, founded in 1802 around a public square on a branch of Station Camp Creek. Homes here range from 1950s brick ranches near downtown to golf community houses at Fairvue Plantation.

Working in Gallatin

What we see on Gallatin roofs

The square sits inside the Gallatin Commercial Historic District, listed on the National Register in 1985, and older streets in town include small historic homes. Highland Park, off Airport Road near downtown, was built around 1952 with brick and frame cottages and ranch homes along Meadowview Drive. Houses from that period may have plank decking, more than one old layer of shingles, or thin attic ventilation, so we check from both the roof and the attic before writing a proposal.

Gallatin has grown fast, from about 30,000 residents in 2010 to more than 44,000 in 2020. US 31E, also called Nashville Pike, is the main road, with Vietnam Veterans Boulevard connecting to Interstate 65 and the State Route 109 bypass west of downtown. Fairvue Plantation, developed on Isaac Franklin’s old estate along US 31E, opened in 2004 as a golf community of more than 400 homes and has its own homeowners association.

Around Gallatin the landscape mixes open fields, wooded hills, and Old Hickory Lake frontage. For shops, barns, and farmhouses on that open ground, we install exposed fastener and standing seam metal. After hail or high wind, we inspect and photograph storm damaged roofs across the area. Gallatin is close to an hour from Murfreesboro and near the north end of our range, so we schedule Sumner County jobs in blocks.

Common needs

What Gallatin homeowners usually call about

1950s homes near the square

Older Gallatin ranches and cottages may hide plank decking or stacked layers. We check the attic and the roof before we put a price in writing.

Fairvue association submittals

If your HOA asks for details, we supply manufacturer color charts and spec sheets so the submittal is complete before work is scheduled.

Barn and shop metal

On barns and shops we measure each run and order panels cut to length, so there are no end laps partway down the slope.
