Working in Hermitage

What we see on Hermitage roofs

Metro planners describe Hermitage as a newer suburban community than neighboring Donelson. Lebanon Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard serve as commuter corridors, Central Pike meets Dodson Chapel Road at a neighborhood center, and Interstate 40 runs just to the south. Hermitage Hills, a large neighborhood off Old Hickory Boulevard, dates to the 1960s. Much of the housing is single family, often a sensible three bedroom, two bath plan, and homes built after 2000 are the exception. Heritage Hills off Lebanon Road is one of those exceptions, built between 2018 and 2020.

The Hermitage itself covers about 1,120 acres on Rachel’s Lane, with Tulip Grove across the road. The J. Percy Priest Dam stands on the Stones River in Hermitage, and Long Hunter State Park is a short drive away. Homes near the lake and the river bottomland can catch stronger wind than a sheltered street a mile away. Metro’s plan for the area also notes floodplain, natural springs, steep terrain, and some sinkholes, all of which affect where roof water should go once it leaves the gutters.

The Hermitage name also crosses the county line. Garland Drive, the newer phase of Heritage Hills, is in Wilson County while the other streets of that subdivision are in Davidson. We confirm the county from the parcel before we schedule so any permit goes through the right office. Hermitage is about forty minutes from Murfreesboro by interstate, well inside our regular range.

County line addresses

Some Hermitage addresses fall in Wilson County. We check the parcel first and pull any needed permit from the correct county.

Sixties neighborhood roofs

Homes from the 1960s, like those in Hermitage Hills, may be on a third roof by now. We look for extra layers and tired decking before we quote.

Lake wind details

Near Percy Priest Lake we pay extra attention to ridge caps, starter rows, and edge metal, the places where wind damage tends to begin.

Only the paperwork. The county decides which office issues a permit, so we confirm it from your parcel before scheduling. The free inspection, the photos, and the written proposal are the same on either side of the line.

Do you inspect storm damage in Hermitage?

Yes. After hail or high wind in Hermitage we inspect, photograph, and give you a written summary you can keep or share with your insurer. Read our guide to storm damage and insurance claims before you file anything.
